We are here for anyone affected by the death of a baby no matter how long ago or how recent that loss. Anyone affected by the loss of a baby is welcome, whether it be a 2nd trimester loss, a stillbirth or those who lost through neonatal death. Also those who have suffered the tragedy of having to interrupt a pregnancy due to abnormality are also welcome.

We are able to offer email and telephone support through our local in-group 'befrienders', who are trained and recognised by the national Sands organisation. We also hold monthly group meetings, which are very informal and welcoming way to get involved with the group, meet and hear from others who have suffered loss, and which we hold in a relaxed atmosphere where we can talk, share experiences or just listen. While every loss is unique, we believe that meeting other people who have been affected by the loss of a child can help parents feel less isolated.

If you are the grandparent, aunt, uncle, or friend of parents who have lost a child, and are looking for helping in supporting them (or perhaps would like help yourself) you are also very welcome to contact us.

Telephone Support

Sometimes, it can help to talk.  We have local people here to help, trained and supported by the national Sands charity.
If you would like to talk to someone, please send us an email, sharing your name, contact number, and any details about when will be a good time to talk, and we will arrange for someone to call you as soon as possible.  We are here to listen and to help when you need us.
